Videoworks, an Italian leader in yacht technology systems, is set to showcase one of the first practical applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the yachting industry at the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show 2024. The company will present its AI-driven energy management system designed specifically for an electric-powered superyacht during a press conference on September 27th.

The presentation will feature insights from Sergio Saponara, Director of the Department of Information Engineering at the University of Pisa, who will discuss the broader potential of AI within the maritime sector. Maurizio Minossi, CEO of Videoworks, will then provide a detailed explanation of how AI can enhance onboard comfort and efficiency by optimizing energy usage. AI offered various opportunities: they enhance onboard comfort while simultaneously helping to reduce energy waste. For example, one AI application calculates the temperature setpoints of the guest cabin air conditioning based on the yacht’s energy reserves or predicts hotel consumption for the next six hours according to the number of passengers, location, weather conditions, and the planned route.

In addition, the company will present several more innovations and collaborations, including exclusive Loewe Stellar TVs, internet as at home with the SD-Wan system and ETO Panel, which was designed by Videoworks to simplify the work of specialists involved in the management of electronic and electrical equipment of the vessel.
